Higher Ground Mango Theme
One of my goals for this blog was to learn how to create themes for Mango. I looked at the guides for creating a theme on the Mango site and Benedict Lowndes blog and then started to try to make my own custom changes to the existing Happy Blog theme. While this worked in theory, my lack of design skills immediately stood out as the theme I created from customizing the Happy Blog theme was atrociously horrible looking.
So, I decided to take another approach and started looking around at the numerous theme sites for a theme that I could port over to Mango blog. The process went pretty smooth and I also found it to be a good way to learn the workings of Mango Blog and its custom tags. If anyone shows interest, I may decide to do several posts that outline the steps I took as well as the things that I discovered about Mango while porting this theme. If anyone would like to download the theme for their Mango installation it is available on my project page. I also plan to port several more themes for other blogs that I plan to run.
Dear John I read your reply on my post #13667 in which you wrote how you ported a theme to Mango and that this is the result. I said I liked what you did but just as each blog has it's own identity I need a different identity for each each blog on my own and sofar in that perspective I tried to look beyond the offerings surrounding Mango or BlogCFC. Wordpress in this case. Now you write in this post that you plan to port se veral more themes originally designed for Wordpress to Mango. I made a mockup using Fireworks cs4 and plan to port that Mango but I could use somehelp. Also happy to pay a fee for the help, regards
